DON’T RUN AT 2:00 IN THE AFTERNOON!!! It was soooooo hot!!!! (82 and 60% humidity to be exact) I thought I picked a route that would keep us in the shade for a good chunk BUT it was a loop and we started in the “wrong” direction so the second half was all in the sun – ugh!
The alarm was set for 4:30 this morning because I KNEW it was going to be hot today and the afternoon run was just asking for a crappy performance BUUUUUT bedtime happened later than I wanted and Alex woke-up at some point (which means I woke-up) SOOOOO the alarm was turned off and I slept until his little face popped up beside me this morning.
Jenny and I trudged through the miles right on pace but we cut it short. We both were dripping and in her “delirium” she forgot how to walk through a door (sorry, couldn’t let that one go! hehehe). Thankfully Arnica cures all, I have hardwood floors so the “swass” puddles from our collapsed bodies could easily be sanitized, and we have cleansed ourselves of all alcohol consumed in the last 48 hours. Not the best quality run, but these are some obvious high points.
The note to self is real though. If I want to do the training plan justice and hit my goal, this girl needs to get herself out of bed when the alarm goes off. It’s non-negotiable.
Today’s post is short because I’m hot and I’m tired. Be careful out in this heat friends – the struggle is REAL! 🙂
